Almost all the people use the Web Search Engines for their everyday activities; especially the academicians and researchers use the Search Engines for their teaching, day to day activities, and research needs. Here, an attempt has been made to rank 5 Search Engines, i.e., Google, AltaVista, Yahoo, MSN and Rediff, based on quantum of records retrieved from the Web for the period from January to December 2011. For this purpose, one book title belonging to engineering field has been used with various combinations of fields, such as, author/s, title, publisher, etc. Keywords

Information Literacy is the defining paradigm of modern education. Librarianship in the present digital age is not restrained to the documents rather; the profession has now amalgamated to multifarious subfields. Information literacy is essential today for development and progress. This paper aims to attempt find the concept of information literacy (IL).The paper shows initially the general idea about information, information literacy with relation to library and information science. It describes the importance, components, basic types and needs of information literacy. The paper further gives a glimpse of different activities and roles especially information literate LIS professionals. This paper also highlights the emerging trends and developments of information literacy in the library profession in the present day. Keywords

The ethanolic and acetone extracts of Bauhnia variegate bark was examined for anti-inflammatory in experimental animals. In this study both acute and sub-acute inflammation models were used to evaluate the antiinflammatory activity of the Bauhnia variegate. In acute model carrageenan was used to induce inflammation in rat hind paw and in sub-acute inflammation, cotton pellet induced granuloma was performed. The bark of ethanolic and acetone extracts of bauhnia variegate at the doses of 400 mg/kg shows significant (p<0.001) inhibition of inflammation against both acute and sub-acute anti-inflammatory model. The percentage inhibition of ethanolic and acetone extract of Bauhnia variegate both acute and subacute anti-inflammatory model was 35.29%, 43.14% and 33.53%, 42.20% respectively. According to our results both the extracts of Bauhnia variegate in doses of 400 mg/kg reveals anti-inflammatory activity and supports tribal claim. Keywords

The present article investigates the dry sliding wear behavior of Aluminium 6061 hybrid metal matrix composite (ALHMMC) and compare the results with cast iron(ci). The (ALHMMC) possess light weight, low corrosion and high strength which offer unique property, which can use in automobile brakes. The main objective of this work to investigate the sliding wear behavior of al6061 composites reinforce mos2 particles and to optimize the process parameters in braking applications. the composite were prepared by using stir casting technique and optimization were done by using taguchi technique. The optimal combinations input parameters which will positively influence the wear rate and coefficient of friction. Dry sliding wear test method was used to conduct the experiments by using pin-on-disc wear testing machine. design of experiment was selected for analysis of the data. Investigation about applied load, sliding speed, sliding distance on wear rate and coefficient of friction during wearing process was carried out using ANOVA. results show that applied load has the highest influence followed by sliding distance and sliding velocity. Keywords
